简介:Unconstrained sensing of human-environment interaction is one of the most important technology which is expected to provide ubiquitous interfaces and high fidelity motion analysis systems as well as stress-free bioins***mentation. Unconstrained tactile sensing is a challenging topic because tactile sensing devices are inherently required to mediate between the human and an object [Dahiya et al. 2010]. Therefore, it is still difficult to obtain human behavioral information without disturbing touch conditions. Superimposing technology can be used for not only displays but also sensors and becomes an option for the unconstrained sensing of the human-environment interaction. We propose a new concept of the sensing technology, superimposed sensor on huan body in order to detect skin contact pressure without disturbing touch conditions. Previous touch sensor by monitoring nail colors [Mascaro and Asada 2001] and the touch sensing by using the invasive measurement of the nerve activities [Haugland et al. 1994] demonstrate this concept. The possible applications of superimposed sensors are analysis of human-environment interaction, haptic communications systems, input interfaces and so on. The advantage of the superimposed skin sensor is to obtain the touch information without disturbing both intrinsic sensing function of the human body and environment. Therefore, the device can be used in various touch actions including indirect touch with an ins***ment.We propose superimposed skin pressure sensor technology which is based on electrical and mechanical impedances of thskin. Compared to the traditional touch sensing system, the proposed system provides the touch information with wide range of the contact pressure and from any part of the body.
