Coronado is a six-channel sound installation in which an ocean ***m is controlled by autonomous mechanical arms, creating a feedback loop that bounces sound waves and produces a spatial interpretation of the beach’s soundscape. A sense of wonder and awe is at the heart of Coronado, which was inspired by the artist’s personal encounter with the Coronado beach in California, where he found beauty appearing and disappearing from all directions.
