Step 1: Import a Primitive 3D object
1. Go to the Basic Objects palette and drag a sphere primitive out to the scene window.
2. While the sphere is selected, go to the Inspector palette and change the Y Scale of the sphere to 1.5.

You should see an egg shaped sphere primitive located in the center of your scene window.
Step 2: Import an Image map
1. Go to the Storage palette and locate the image: Samples/Maps/Abstract Maps/Organic_2.jpg
2. Drag and drop the image onto the sphere's material in the object outline.

3. While the image is selected, change the U Repeat of the image to 3 in the Inspector palette,
4. Change the V Repeat to 3.
5. Change the U Tiling to Mirrored.
6. Change the V Tiling to Mirrored.
Step 3: Import a Behavior
1. Go to the Storage palette and locate the behavior: Behavior Library/Animation/Rotator.bvs
2. Drag and drop the Rotator behavior onto the sphere in the object outline.

3. While the Rotator.bvs is selected, go to the inspector pallete and change the default X Rotation Time to 45.
Step 4: Preview the Presentation

1. Preview the presentation by going the File menu and selecting Preview... or by hitting the F12 key.

Notice that the egg shaped sphere will rotate slowly on its' x axis.
Step 5: Move the Camera

1. Select the default camera in the Outline and change its default position Z from -600 to 0.

The Camera should now be located directly inside of the sphere at 0,0,0.  The scene will show up as black.

Step 6: Adjust the Sphere's Material
By default, the sphere primitive has all of its polygons facing outward. This means that once we have moved the camera inside of the sphere, no polygons can be scene.  To see the inside of the sphere we need to adjust the sphere's material.

1. Select the sphere's material and locate the Double Sided property in the Inspector palette. Change the Double Sided property to Off(Back Face Only).
2. Change the Emissive Power slider property to 100.

3. Preview the presentation.

Notice that we are now inside of the rotating sphere.
Step 7: Adjusting the Image map

1. Select the Organic_2 image in the object outline.
2. Change the Texture Mapping property to Environmental mapping.

3. Preview the presentation to notice how Environmental mapping renders much differently than the default UV mapping.
Step 8: Duplicating the Image

1. While the Organic_2 image is selected, duplicate the image by selecting Edit/Duplicate object, right clicking on it and selecting Duplicate, or pressing ctrl d.

2. While the duplicate image is selected, change the Texture Mapping property to Object Projection.
3. Change the Texture Type to Light Map.
4. Preview the presentation.
