光缆内的光纤可能存在物理缺陷,例如含有杂质,气泡等。再加上填充油膏的变化等因素,将影响光纤的光学性能和机械性能。在外界环境以及外力作用下,会引起光纤强度的降低而导致光纤的破损,缩短光缆的寿命。如果我们能掌握光缆线路的光纤状态,即可变被动为主动,尽早发现故障隐患。而这些问题,仅仅通过OTDR测试难以实现。为此,可在系统中引入B-OTDR(Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectmeter)测试设备。B-OTDR是利用布里渊散射原理对光纤光缆受力应变情况进行精确测试,即使十分微小的弯曲都可以准确测试。该产品现以前仅应用于监测地球地壳微小运动、大型桥梁微小震动等特殊要求的方面,目前价格比较昂贵。如果条件允许,可在系统中加入该设备,对光缆线路光纤的受力应变分布情况进行监测,预测故障隐患。

Abstract With the fast development of telecommunication technology, the requirements of fiber cable line quality maintenance become more and more important. Optical fiber cable line Automatic Monitoring System (OAMS) applied in Chinese backbone network and local network plays an important role in the improvement of service quality and service level that the telecom operators provides. This paper describes the infrastructure, functionality, characteristic, and developing trend of OAMS.
